I will show you how to download video content from numerous sites( youtube, Google Video, etc) and convert it using two methods to iPod format files. It is pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

1. Using free video converter for mac
The First Method is using free video converter software.
For this you need the following:
A Mac computer. (tiger or leopard)
A video to download.
Free Video Converter for Mac
Step 1 Download the FLV
Now you need to download the .FLV flash video file. There are many ways of doing this but I just use this one. It works well.

Okay, so I had a PIII system that was running Debian etch and everything was good. All it was doing was running Apache2, PHP5, and Postgres. It had been running fine for months. However, it was a PIII and I happened to come across a P4 2Ghz IBM that had failed with a bad hard drive. So I don't have another hard drive other than the one in my system, so I decide that I can migrate my server quite simply by moving the PIII's hard disk to the newer machine. I read a little online and everyone seems to think that there's no issues in relation to do this for Linux systems (not windows apparently).

Hi,

I just finished fighting with installing KDE4 on my laptop. As I've got
quite a few issues, here's a short (or not so short) write-up:

1. Debian packaging issues

First, let me thank the Debian KDE maintainers for doing such an
enormous amount of work! Although below you will find mainly criticism,
I really do think that you did a great job. It's not an easy task you're
working on!

So, here's some notes:

1.1 KDevelop (Show stopper for me!)

What's really keeping me from using KDE4 is a result of the package
maintainer's decision not to let KDE3 and KDE4 be installed completely
in parallel. One of the side effects is that you can't install KDevelop
together with KDE4! For me this means I can't use KDE4 at the moment!

This guide explains how to set up mod_geoip with lighttpd on a Debian Etch system. mod_geoip looks up the IP address of the client end user. This allows you to redirect or block users based on their country. You can also use this technology for your OpenX (formerly known as OpenAds or phpAdsNew) ad server to allow geo targeting. I will show two ways to build mod_geoip - the first way is to build a new lighttpd .deb package (including mod_geoip) which is the way I recommend. This works only if you have installed the standard Debian Etch lighttpd package. If you have compiled lighttpd yourself, then the second way is for you: it shows how to build mod_geoip.so for your lighttpd version.

I used to run a debian firewall at home and at a couple of remote
locations but the problem is non technical users really need to be able
to do things like up date the software and shutdown the firewall without
having to ssh in.

Is there a project to make a pretty admin interface for a debian firewall?

Thanks

Hello,

Cancel this. I'll use something I don't have to play too much with. Debian is great in a wired world, pure crap in the wireless world. If mepis can manage to detect my wireless right off the bat, why can't debian? And please don't mention propriatary drivers or I'll throw up...

I'm trying to setup my wireless I loaded the module it is at the top of lsmod outpu.

Using either synaptic of kpacakge manager to load bcm43xx-fwcutter it errors out. Kpackagemanager gives this output

apt-get install --yes 'bcm43xx-fwcutter' ;echo RESULT=$?

The following NEW packages will be installed:
bcm43xx-fwcutter

Is there a guide to building using svn://svn.debian.org/pkg-kde/branches/kde4?

Thanks

Hi All:

Freshest of fresh meats here. My colleague and I are new to Linux and were tasked with setting up a mail server.

Installed Debian. Installed postfix. But now we are stuck because only ports 21, 22 & 23 are open (nmap -v).

My colleague deleted the iptables file. Iptables -L shows no rules.

How can we open ports 25, 80 and 110?

No external FW is involved.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

I have a problem with the nsplugin viewer. I'm using Etch with kde from
backports ( 3.5.8-1~bpo40+1).

Also, I have the flash plugin from backports:
- flashplugin-nonfree 1.4~bpo40+1

but ALL the time that konqueror open a page with a swf, I got a crash (bt
below).

So, I can be patient, but I havethis error from some months and I'm thinking
to kickoff konqueror and use iceweasel (as I do with some pages), but I
resist to do it.

So, any idea?

I have tested both, free and non free plugins.

Regards,

Leo

What happened to uh ... ah .. oh yes, SCO?

Have a look at their website - it's hilarious - you'd think they hired kindergarten kiddies to write for them. They're still making laughable delusional claims and - would you believe it - they still have some shills! SCO, victim of Linux Mob Justice. Ooo - that'll really please the judge. And Darl McBride's momma wears combat boots - on her breasts! Does not! Does too! Does too a million gazillion times! Hmm... wait a second ... that's all old news. I guess SCO can no longer afford to hire the pimply kid next door to make changes to their website.

Hi there,

I need help here. I am trying to install an OS into my virtual machine but it prompts me that I do not have a hard disk drives. So I was advised that I need to use NFS in Ubuntu in order to share the hard disk drives in my ESX server.

Hence, I went to search the relevant codes to install NFS in Ubuntu. This is what I have found.

sudo apt-get install nfs-kernel-server nfs-common portmap (Upon applying this command,it prompts me that "package: nfs-kernel-server" is not found)
Does that mean I have to install this package first before installing?
Where can I find this package?
Can you please help me?
