So, I bought this new LG Super-Multi DVD/CD ROM drive, and as it turns out, it's pretty much the root of all evil. No pun intended. Blum 3

This stupid thing won't let me install any linux OS. I've tried Ubuntu, Debian, Slackware, Arch, you name, I've tried it. They all come up saying the same thing. Can't connect to media, or something have to do with storage and what not. I originally thought it was a hard drive issue, but as it turns out, it's not.

Anyways, I have no idea what to do. There are no drivers for the LG DVD/CD ROM because it's basically just plug it in to SATA port and go lol. Also, pretty weird, but it lets me install any version of Windows, just no linux operating systems. So weird.

Can anyone help me out? I can get a screenshot of the error that I get when installing Debian if that will help any.

Is there a MODEL number on the ROM? (Google doesn't find anything specific.)

Have you checked your BIOS/Boot Order? What options does it give you?

Have you tried a USB stick installation?
