procmail installed but missing components

Hello!

I am running Virtual Bugzilla Server 3.4 with Debian Lenny and am encountering some issues in configuring procmail. It says that procmail is installed and up to date, however none of the components (ex: .procmailrc) are there. I'm not sure if there is something within VBS that limits what I am able to do, but I have root access and do not see what would cause this to happen. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated; Thank you!

Best,

Toni

When running

make BASENAME=/usr install

I receive the error

/bin/sh: line 0: cd: /usr/man/man1: No such file or directory
ls: cannot access procmail.1: No such file or directory
ls: cannot access formail.1: No such file or directory
ls: cannot access lockfile.1: No such file or directory
make: *** [install] Error 2

Apart from that I receive no errors and it says that everything is up to date. I also see the procmail, formail, lockfile and mailstat files within /usr/bin, but no ~/.procmailrc or anything.

Firstly, why do you compile if there is a packaged version?
Secondly, why the assumption that procmail installation will automatically create .procmailrc? It may be, however, that /etc/procmailrc is generated during the installation.

According to my experience, make stops the compilation upon error which means that the program was not installed in its entirety. Perhaps you need to pass more options during the configure stage. I'd read the installation files which come with the source.

Apparently Bugzilla automatically removes components from the Debian install that it will not utilize (I contacted ALM Works a couple days ago and received a response yesterday evening). Purging and re-installing actually fixed the issue, which makes me feel super silly now Blum 3

I gathered that .procmailrc file would be automatically created from what I had read online, but I found another source yesterday that said it may or may not already exist. I've created the necessary .forward and .procmailrc files and am now in the process of tweaking them so I can get mail piped into Bugzilla's email_in.pl script.

Thank you for your assistance!
