A blast from the past. This is Debian's old logo, a Penguin representation affectionately known as the "chicken". This logo was changed by a 1999 vote to the present-day "swirl" logos.

But as I recall...

#include /dev/random/memory :-)

... there were two big arguments in favor of changing the logo:

(1) A penguin was inappropriate because Debian was planned to include/use more kernels than just Linux (e.g. BSD, Hurd).

(2) It looked like a chicken. :-)

Cool I've never seen that before having only joined after potatoe.

The swirl is great though I have it on my disconected home page, big and red, and sometimes on my desktop and things I give ppl and.....:-)

Are we just a blip in history, where the working class had too much access to information and freedom?
