The Application "batstat" has quit unexpectedlyI get the following error How do I get APCI working? Also the laptop will not powerdown or reboot. I have to push the button to manually stop the laptop. |
The Application "batstat"
What laptop is it?
"Batstat quit unexpectedly" sounds like bad programming in batstat.
Several years ago I had a problem with not powering off etc, but this was because the ACPI in the BIOS was buggy; I just disabled ACPI and switched on APM and everything worked.
Medion MIM 2310
It is a Medion MIM 2310.
How do I disable APCI and use APM?
Medion MIM 2310
I think booting with "apm noacpi" should work, if the power management modules have been built.
Here's a bug report with similar problems:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=390547
In that case 'acpi' is actually enabled (and apm is off), but some extra options need to be specified when the acpi module loads.
New Laptop
This is a new laptop. I don't think it uses apm. I think this problem is linked to xorg as well. I could shutdown the laptop before I installed Xorg.
hello
You are absolutely right !!!
