Installation failure of Debian Etch on SATA HDDHi All, I recently purchased a system with SEAGATE 80 GB Hard Disk and Intel D945GCNL mother board. On trying to install Debian Etch the installation fails.But I can install Fedora core 6 and Vector linux without any problem What is the problem ? Please help Bookmark/Search this post with:

SATA install
Do you also have IDE drives installed in your system as well as the SATA drive? For some bizarre reason, Debian distros refuse to recognize my SATA drive as the 1st hard drive, but they install fine - I just have to adjust my grub.conf after every kernel upgrade and after initial install or the system points to the wrong drive/partition. At what point does your install fail?
