apt sources doesn't contain some packages that it should, or they are brokenI'm trying to install the Nvidia proprietary driver on Lenny. My first hurdle is just getting a build environment set up properly. Trying to install "build-essential" tells me that: Quote:
The following packages have unmet dependencies: Also, there is no linux-headers package for my running kernel, 2.6.22-3-amd64 I'd also like to install VMware workstation, which will require a proper build environment as well. I suppose I need to modify my sources.list, but to what? I've left it alone since doing a fresh install of Lenny yesterday. -Matt |

Most likely, important packages will not be broken for long. So you could always wait and see if unstable sorts itself out in a few days. Otherwise, you can try to discover why certain dependencies are not up to date, and see if you can upgrade them. For example, a dependency might not be upgraded because doing so would break some other package you have installed.
