Help! Blank Screen...

Hey. I'm completely new to Linux and Debian. I got the net install and the download seemed fine. When I went to turn on my laptop everything worked fine, Grub started, I chose to boot Debian and I got the page with a lot of text scrolling down (It's loading?) Then after that the screen goes completely blank. I have an HP DV9000 with a NVIDIA graphics card. Anyone able to help?

Thanks,
Clauds.

Try single user mode

I had the same problem recently on a dv6000. If you boot into single user mode the x-server won't start and you can tweak the settings. Try #man xorg

It should work in vga if nothing else.

How can I tweak settings?

I go into single user mode and it's still blank. How can I tweak the settings?

run command

run the command dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg and put the right settings for the parameters the script asks for.
Putting the nvidia drivers also is a good idea. i think there is a separate package called nvidia-xconfig also which configures drivers. See if it helps.

Where do I run the command?
