Network failure after length of time..

Hi Guys,

I have a Debian server which has been running fine until recently, I have been having modem problems, but these have been fixed by replacing the modem, now my servers network itself seems to be failing after time, and not accept connections from the outside properly until the network is restartd (ifdown -a; ifup -a).

Any Ideas?

Power saving stuff interfering?

One quick thought: Could some power-saving "feature" be putting that interface/NIC to sleep?
