Another no sound on laptop prob

Hey guys, im very new to debian, 4 days or so but am getting the hang of it.

Basically i got given an travelmate 4060 laptop that 'didn't' work for free for uni this year and to get it going i installed debian with gnome desktop and have to run 'acpi=off' for it to not self reboot all the time.

I also have to run 'irqpoll' for the network card to be recognized.

I can't get sound working, intel hda, because it seems to clash on irq0 with yenta??

have tried a million things now with alsa and don't know what else to do.
