ide cdrom detection problemI just installed Debian Etch newest image to brand new hardware amd 64. fstab is telling me it detects the cdrom with path /dev/hda. Problem is when you go into /dev there is no file hda ? dvd/cdrom is attached to ide master and hdd is attached to sata. Anyone come across this and have a solution or something for me to try is much appreciated. thanks pete |

Yep you hit it right on the money i used the dvd/cdrom to install debian after the install and boot up debian dvd/cdrom is not workable anymore. After playing with it for awhile i came up to post i had posted the first time missing file hda in /dev folder but shows in fstab.
Thanks
