Making own debian mirror

I want to make my own debian mirror on my local network so that updating packages for users is easy.
I found some nice links for the job like those at:-
http://howtoforge.com/local_debian_ubuntu_mirror
http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/286
http://familiasanchez.net/~roberto/howtos/debrepository
http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/repository-howto/repository-howto.en.html

But they assume that the server on which i am installing is a debian server.
However mine is a sun server. For now we have extracted debian dvds on the
http server and are able to download the packages.
However these will become dated over a period of time. how can we make a debian mirror here?
Is there a way of updating this?
Are there any readymade scripts which would allow me to do this?
Hoping for an early reply.
Thanks in advance.
