Debian don't find my Hard drive...

Hello !
Yesterday, I dowloaded the 1st CD of Debian Etch for ADM64.
I write it on a CD; I reboot my PC and the PC boot on my CD. I press the button "entry"

and the installation begin but it stop few seconds later , I've a black screen. So I

reboot :/.
Before, I write "installgui acpi=off" an press entry again, the installation begin but

debian don't find my hard drive, I've a list of drivers and I chose the driver "sata_nv"

because my mothercard is an Asus a8n-e (chipset -> Nvidia Nforce 4 Ultra), but debian

don't find hard drive again.
So, i can't do the partitioning because debian don't detect hard disk...
I've try with the "Netinstall CD", but It's the same result...

My configuration is :
Processor : AMD Athlon 64 3500+ on socket 939
Mother Card : Asus A8n-e
Graphic Card : Sapphire radeon x800gto 256 MB
Ram : 1GB of ddr 400
Hard disk : Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 6Y200M0 de 200GB

Mat'

I'm sorry for my writing but I'm french and I don't speak very good English.

Don't be sorry about your English, j'ai tout compris !

If your drives are sata ones, you may have to change the ide mode in your bios. Usually there's several options like "ide", "ahci", "ide compatible", so choose something like "ide" or "ata". It will allow you to install, then you'll be able to shift back to native sata mode in the bios.
