PC communicate with KPC-3

I am just getting back into Packet Radio and am running the latest verson of Ubunto. What program or how do I configure to communicate with my
TNC - KPC-3 with my PC? Please treat me as a newbe with Lynux.

If your drivers are all loaded, then you can use a tool like 'node' to help set up the way you want. (apt-cache show node) To install:
apt-get install node

How you set up is dependent on how other packet radios in the area are set up etc. Without more information, no one can really give more instructions on what to do. The question is a bit like "what do I do with my modem" - how a modem is ultimately configured depends on the environment it is in. How a modem can be configured and used is something which is only bounded by imagination.
