wavy computer screen, possible refresh rate problemI am currently using gnome desktop. I'm not positive about which resolution is currently set, I do know it is above 1024 x 768. The computer running it has an nVidia GeForce graphics card. What my problem is, is that my entire screen is waving/ has flames running through it, so it looks like the entire screen is constantly moving- which makes it really hard to read, and concentrate on the screen. I have no idea what is causing it, I guess it is possibly a refresh rate problem. If anyone has any idea what is causing this/ how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate it. (1 vote) |
Re: wavy computer screen, possible refresh rate problem
If you're using a CRT, then you have scan rate problems. You need to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and look at the "Monitor" section. Check the manual for that screen and put in the correct HorizSync and VertRefresh ranges.
