root login impossible?

I have installed debian via goodbye-microsoft. I created a user account and a root account during installation. When starting the system in multi-user mode, I get a login screen where I can successfully log in to my user account. However, I can not log into my root account here. If I try it says: 'The system administrator is not allowed to login from this screen'. Well, I want to install programs, so I will need to be able to log in as root user.
I tried starting up in single mode. There I got a failure, since there is 'no IPv6 router present'. When hitting Enter I can log in but apparently only in my user account. I guess I need to be logged in as root to change this IPv6 problem? So, where do I log in as root?
Probably a very stupid question, but please give me a hint ...

Re: root login impossible?

Log in to your user account and use su in console.

Re: root login impossible?

Or use 'sudo' before the commands in a terminal. The other option is to open a root terminal.
