Problem with my Webcam (Orbicam- Acer Aspire 5630 Laptop)

Hi, I just registered in this site. I'm having problems with my orbicam (Acer Aspire 5630)since a week. When I use Yahoo messenger and if I want to do video chat with somebody the camera seems to be not working (The error appers like "the webcam is not connected" and when I click OK, I get reply like "sorry no webcam was found on your system - Get help with webcams". I even uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it again. But the problem seems to not resolved. I'm giving my System details.

Laptop: Acer Aspire 5630
Windows OS: Vista Home Premium
Processor: Intel(R)Core(TM)2CPU
Memory: 2.00GB
System Type: 32-bit Operating System

I would appreciate if you could get me any solution in regard to this problem.

Should you have any questions or require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.

Have a nice day ahead.

Thank you,

Regards,

Prabhakar.

Re: Problem with my Webcam (Orbicam- Acer Aspire 5630 Laptop)

You mean to say that its not working with Vista or Debian.
I have the same laptop and it works on both vista and debian (after installing the uvc drivers).

When I bought some others reported problems with certain cameras.
Its better to check up with the support guys for this. The camera maybe bad like it happened with some other guys.
