Using a 2.4 Kernel on a Dell laptop, need to get my Crystal 4237B sound working, trying ALSA

Here's some info:

Audio:
Audio controller Crystal 4237B
Audio type Sound Blaster Pro-compatible voice and music functions
Stereo conversion 16-bit (analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog)
FM music synthesizer 20-voice, 72-operator
Interfaces:
ISA bus

Right now the laptop doesn't have Network access. (Will work on that later.)

I can get deb packages onto it. I have installed most of the alsa packages, base, modules, oss, source, utils...

Not sure where to go with this.

I'm going to stay with the 2.4 kernel, since I'm using DSL.
