Impeach Bush! left-column boxI had some feedback about the left-column box which features a line drawing of George Bush calling him a liar and which links to the ImpeachBush.org site. I replied to the poster via e-mail, but the mail bounced. Since this may be of general interest, and since I wanted the feedback person to see it, I'm reposting the mail below: > When you remove this crap form your site maybe I'll come back, otherwise Well, I don't want to debate the issue, since it is cut and dried and that But 2 quick points: (1) The US Supreme Court has ruled that Bush violated US law and the Geneva Conventions (prompting Bush to appeal to Congress to "reinterpret" the Geneva Conventions to avoid the issue of him being a war criminal). (2) A US Federal Court ruled that Bush violated US law by wiretapping Americans without court warrants. Bush simply ignores the Court's ruling, continues to violate the law, and wastes our tax money appealing a court ruling that is black and white. With those two points in mind, it is unquestionable that Bush is literally a criminal. I don't think anyone is above the law and that criminals should be punished. For those people eager to see the Constitution trashed and a president that can violate any law he chooses -- using the same old excuse of dictators everywhere, that he must do it "to protect the country" -- then that box on the site can be disabled in their account settings. They're then free to live in whatever fantasy world they want. If you choose not to use the site, that's your choice. Best regards. -- |
Of course he's a crook...
But as in generations past, many of our countrymen have this fantasy that the president can do no wrong. I remember a MAD magazine from decades ago where they had "re-illustrated" quotes from Shakespeare. "Always a villain's office or a fool's" had a photograph of the White House. In Dubbyah's case we have a villain and fool - and yet our contrymen suck up all his crap. What will it take before people have enough? Are they waiting for their wives and daughters to be raped by Bush's death squads? Our president is trying to officially institutionalize war crimes as part of the everyday duties of our government. We are abducting people and smuggling them into the Baltic states to be tortured and murdered. How many of these victims had anything to do with terrorism? The official line is "all of them of course, but we can't give you any details because it's a matter of national security". Even within the USA people are already being abducted and held prisoner - no charges, no word to their families, no right to representation. Those people who think this is in our nation's interest will be the next victims once they do something that Big Dubbyah and his gang of loonies don't like. We're an international pariah - exempt from all rules which other nations have agreed to. I have had many disagreements with Senator John McCain - he's a certified right-wing senator - and yet I've got to respect him, and he's one of the few who is actually standing up and saying Dubbyah is going too far. Now when a right-winger says his boss has lost it, you've got to be worried - it rarely ever means that the boss has "gone soft" or "crossed the tracks".
What is the goal of your site?
Is your purpose to make a political statement, or offer debian help? I think that the political crap easily overshadows the more valuable purpose of offering debian help.
Pardon??!!??
In your last dozen or so posts I could find one that might be considered technical help. If you want to see a greater help to politics ratio I'm sure IntsRed (and the rest of us) would love to see your input.
Besides, as has been said before, the purpose of this site is to do whatever IntnsRed wants it to. I just wish we could see more of the political stuff that he used to post -- it was absolute gold!

A tidy house is the sign of a stolen computer.
Gold?
Most of his stuff isn't any better than that of Vees or Pinneped. I think they have more to offer society by way of Debian technical help, rather than political wisdom, since they lack a lot of common sense when it comes to politics. My suggestion is that they kill the political bantor and focus on Debian IF that is the main goal of the site. However, if the goal is to spout off a bunch of liberal bull-crap, then they've got what they wanted in the politics forum. I'm not sure how many people it offends or turns away from the site, but IntsRed is what he is, and you are right... it's his site.
We are all terrorists!

Off cause they are all guilty. They are tortured to admit that they are terrorists and members of Al Quada. And I'm sure that I'm a terrorist and member of Al Quada after a short time of torture.

Feel free to avoid the Political Economy thread until your fascist like regime force us to shut up or write right-wing lies and force you to take part of it and call that freedom. In this case: Freedom is the right to chose!
You are right
You can choose to believe whatever you want to believe. Just be careful that you don't get caught up in a blind liberal rage, and miss reality until it smacks you in the face. Not saying that is what will happen, but it can if you get caught up in a one-track frame of mind.
