Hi,

I need to connect via VPN to my job's network and they only provide me with something called FortiClient, which is a proprietary client. They give me a Windows and a Mac version. No linux option. The client is based on the OpenSSL Library, as far as I can see from the 'About' information the Windows version shows.

My question is the following. Is there a way to use some free SSL-based VPN client from the debian repositories in place of the FortiClient?

Thanks

I don't think that just being based on the OpenSSL library is going to mean much; that's just a generic encryption library.

Have you asked FortiClient if they have a GNU/Linux version or can recommend a compatible free software option? It's worth putting a bug in their ear just to let them know that there is demand out there for a GNU/Linux version.
