Gnome - Granted Permissions......My new Lenny install (Gnome Desktop) wants to allow root access to many apps (such as running GParted!) without demanding the root password. The box stating "Granted permissions without asking for password" pops up and away the app goes. The PC will be used in a location where busy fingers might do things that I will have to repair, and I don't want a root rampage. How do I force the apps to demand the root password? I can't seem to find just where to make the changes. Dave W. |
Re: Gnome - Granted Permissions......
I received a reply in another forum that provided the answer. I had logged in as root using su and the root password had been cached for the duration of that session. Logging out as user and logging in again as user restored the request for root password.
