Lenny w/RAID 5 Setup/Backup - HOWTO

Hey everyone!

Fairly new to Debian/Lenny here and I have been into many forums checking out different distros of 'nix and how they configure a soft RAID 5 but can't seem to get one to work with my current setup.

I am currently trying to install a new Debian Lenny setup with 3 x 750gB SATA HDD's in RAID 5. Mobo has onboard RAID but only in RAID 0/1 configuration and since I need RAID 5, I want to use Lenny's software RAID. I don't have the cash for a good RAID controller at the moment and want to test run nix's software RAID anyway, so does anyone have(or can anyone author) a good HOWTO on this topic?

Anyone know how to setup a good backup for this setup? How much storage do you need for the backup of the setup mentioned above? (1.5TB useable space - 750gB parity so I'm guessing 1.5TB?)

Would it be better to apply a RAID 10 situation? (This system is intended to be a webserver)
