Can't connect TV with HDMI cable

Hi,

I am trying to connect my Laptop in a Sony TV to try to watch movies better. I am using a HDMI cable but no image appears in the TV screen.

My Laptop has a Debian Wheezy installed:

#uname -a
Linux rajej 3.2.0-4-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 3.2.51-1 i686 GNU/Linux

I don't know if it is relevant for this, but I am using the fvwm-crystal window manager (also tried this with GNOME before, but also didn't work).

The output of xrandr shows that the HDMI1 output is detected and connected:

#xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 8192 x 8192
LVDS1 connected 1366x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 344mm x 194mm
   1366x768       60.1*+
   1360x768       59.8     60.0
   1024x768       60.0
   800x600        60.3     56.2
   640x480        59.9
VGA1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
HDMI1 connected 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 735mm x 420mm
   1920x1080      25.0*+   30.0
   1280x720       50.0     60.0
   1440x576       25.0
   1440x480       30.0
   720x576        50.0
   720x480        59.9
   640x480        59.9
DP1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

I am trying to generate the output by using the command below, but nothing happens, just a black screen with the text message in the TV: "1080i / 50..."

#xrandr --output HDMI1 --auto

This Laptop runs a dual boot with a Windows 7, and the HDMI runs correctly on Windows.

Anyone has any suggestions on this?

Thanks
