USB Printer Problems with etch

Hi my usb printer has stopped working since i upgraded to etch. Its a samsung 1610 and was fully supported under sarge. Basically none of the printer setup programs will detect it. I think the problem is that they are looking for usb devices on /dev/mfp[#], However these dont exist - the closest i´ve got is a folder called mfpports in dev which has 0 1 2 3 in it or a usb folder which has loads of stuff in it.

Anyone know why this has happened? I was thinking i may have been asked about some settings relating to this when i upgraded and its hidden the ports or something.

I have the same problem since my update to etch, but with the Sambung ML-2010. It's good to know I'm not the only one, but is there someone with a suggestion to solve this issue?
