Zorkmid inflationJust an FYI; I revamped the awarding for zorkmids for various site functions. This is done to encourage helpful behavior. For example, in the theory that answers are more important than questions (hey, don't whine, it's just a theory!:-), you'll be awarded 2 zorkmids for comments to a topic, but only 1 for creating a new topic. Similarly, zorkmids awarded for things like creating book pages were also increased. |
What about posts to Political Economy?
I wonder if it would be worth giving single zorkmids to posts to the Political Economy forum. I think it's great having it here, but there are a few users who could get quite rich (inadvertently, I'm sure) with a 'I know you are, you said you are, so what am I?' debate.

Re: What about posts to Political Economy?
A good idea, but impractical. The code that does the points just references comments in a generic manner. There'd have to be significant code changes to ID comments to forum posts, and then specific forums.
If there's one thing I've learned over the years of running CMSs it's not to play with the code. Even with easy changes in code, it creates an inevitable huge headache down the road; in effect, you wind up creating a fork and adopting all of the code maintenance for that fork.

cammoblammo,
You would deny us our zorkmids? Is that a Christian thing to do? I'm saving mine for the free trip to Hell.
