Which superhero?ok, which superhero could solve the middle east situation as well as to put a stop to global terror. Superman (guy always seemed a bit pussyish)? Batman (a brooding hero, his drive is more selfish...maybe if Osama dispatches somebody close to him)? Capt. America (ok, we have this one acting)? Clarity on the "situation"
What exactly is the "situation"?
* The Iraqi resistance is fighting against a foreign occupation and US-installed puppet gov't who in about to sign Iraq's oil away to western oil companies.
* The formerly-US-backed religious zealots in Afghanistan are fighting against a foreign occupation and US-installed puppet gov't which is corrupt, ineffective, and doesn't reflect the local culture.
* Osama who? The US-invented "Al Queda" (fast fact: it was the US gov't who named the group) is largely a figment of the imagination. There is no organized structure, just random nuts who claim the Al Queda name when they blow something up. But the myth of an organized Al Queda lets the US continue its aggression, war spending, and policies of torture.
* Shaky pro-western dictatorships (e.g. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, etc.) ignore the will of their people, are incompetent at the development of their countries, and bow steadily to US/western demands thus making their rule extremely shaky and subject to being overthrown at any time.
* The Palestinians are still being robbed of their land, as Israel ignores both UN resolutions and World Court judgements. Israel continues its illegal occupation and apartheid policies with full US support.
To me, the above is "the situation".
The superhero best to solve the situation? The one focused on justice...

I do not have an incling to further expound on 'the situation' when everybody here is gnawing at it for many months (but still - your summary touches about everything)
My idea was that world reached the level of just enough chaos and bad stuff going on (including global worming) that this is ideal situation for a deux ex machina solution - a superhero, the One Who Acts On His Own...
Well, I hope that at least Gaia exists.

Meir was Israeli Prime Minister before suicide bombing became the main weapon of the Palestinians. While one can find truly ruthless quotes by Meir, let's examine this one.
It immediately raises the obvious question: Who was killing the Arab children when she said that?
Were the Arabs themselves killing their own kids? Or was she referring to Israel killing Arab children in order to force the Arabs into giving up their land? Or, was it simply a mindless piece of rhetoric designed for propaganda to paint the Arabs as aggressors? (After all, with Israel having launched a sneak attack on the air forces of 5 Arab countries to start off the 1967 6-Day War and then successfully claiming it was an Arab war of aggression, the Israeli lobby are experts at painting themselves as the victim.)

so golda meir is not the one. dylan dog? no, that guy is too involved in paranormal to solve this kind of thing. X-men? they're too similar to US special forces. never would be accepted by oppressed folk. hmmm - I was about to say some extraterrestrial specie but we have US there don't we? so no...what about literature character? Maybe if Solomon and Muhammed could reach a new agreement about urbanistic plan of Jerusalem...yes! look, if Muhammed appears tommorow in Jerusalem and tells muslims to stop kamikaze-terrorism - they would stop. If Solomon does the same with Jews (e.g forget the Jerusalem and the Temple) - same effect. So, all we need are strong individuals.
