Icedove + spamassassin

Tags:

Hi all,

I'm trying to get Icedove and spamassassin working and I'm stuck at one point. I'm not a system admin on the mail server, so spamassassin would be located on my local machine. Previously, I had been using pine (...yes, don't laugh!), and this is what I did.

I set fetchmail to retrieve the messages from the server and forward it on to procmail. procmail then sent it on to spamassassin which scored the messages and then sorted it into various folders, as well as mailing list messages (which didn't have to be scored). Messages that passed all this were placed in /var/spool/mail. pine read my mail from /var/spool/mail, and I'm done...

The problem is that for pine, there was a configuration entry called "inbox path", which I could enter either a server name or a path name. I can't seem to find the similar option for Icedove/Thunderbird. Does anyone know how to do this or how to circumvent this problem?

Thanks!

Ray

Sorry! Solution found...

Hi all,

Never mind; I found the solution. It's just a setting in the accounts option. It is called "Movemail" (which I never heard of before, but I guess it is a standard name)...
