Which TeX distribution to use?Dear Debian users, I am wondering which Debian TeX packages to use, TeXLive or teTeX. I % texexec --version texexec : TeXExec 5.2.4 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2005 total run time : 1 seconds So, do you think it would be all right to switch to the "context" Thanks. Kumar -- |

If I get the gist right of the discussion on -devel about a few months ago,
texlive is the future in Debian. Norbert Preining introduced texlive and
recently added context, so he'd be the guy to ask. Other than that, file
a bug report for it.
Cheers,

Thomas Esser, the man who put together the TeTeX package ("Te" =
Thomas Esser) has decided to pass on the baton, and no longer is
maintaining TeTeX. Esser has endorsed TeXLive. You can search with
Google for his announcement.
All TeTeX users are indebted to Esser for his faithful work over the
years, apart from which the average Linux user hardly would be able to
get all the packages which comprise TeX and LaTeX running properly
together as a system.
