How do I change gnome default file icon for a specific type of file?*cbr and *cbz files use the default gnome file icon, how can I change the icon to the Comix icon? |
Perhaps with MIME type system
Hi there
I'm not sure if this is the easiest way, but it is definitely an "official" way to handle file types.
This document could be helpful: http://www.gnome.org/learn/admin-guide/latest/mimetypes-0.html
It describes how to register your own mime types. Icons are assigned to mime types, so as soon as the types are registered you probably need to put some icons into /usr/share/icons or something. I'm not sure about that location.
Cheers, Georg

Hi,
hyperlink is broken (404 Not Found error).
Maybe the new URL is http://library.gnome.org/admin/system-admin-guide/stable/mimetypes-0.html.en
