Are the FUD gates opening again?

It looks like Illuminata (an M$ schill company) is at it again. Apparently large companies like IBM are using the Open Source model to destroy competition... like... uhm... releasing Eclipse - poor Borland and Symantec! And ... uhmm... releasing 'Derby' - poor MySQL! I just had to laugh at these claims coming from Microsoft - it looks like they're terrified of genuine competition and they can see it coming. People who know what they're doing use appropriate tools, not just any free tools. If Symantec and Borland lose out to Eclipse on the JAVA IDE market it's because the customers see greater value in Eclipse - time for Borland and Symantec to offer better value. That's the way the market is meant to operate. Contrast that with Microsoft's mudslinging campaigns and terrorist tactics when government agencies decide they want open and royalty-free document standards - 40 years ago we would have had Bill Gates and the tempermental chair-hurling Baldmer behind bars where they belong, but these days they own the government. Just look at the Federal antitrust case - what a joke - talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
