mencoder install problem

I can not install the mencoder package. Synaptic can not find some packages, on the consol after apt-get update and apt-get upgrade I receive error message that
needed libavcodeccvs51 (>= 3:20070221) but not installed
needed libavformatcvs51 (>= 3:20070221) but not installed
(the error messages are translated as I use Hungarian language)

mplayer is installed and functions well. I use the debian etch distro...
What to do?

missing codec

I suggest you to look for these libraries in your apt-cache search. Maybe these libraries are not installed by default. And if you are really looking for player try vlcplayer in etch, it supports a majority of the formats.
