libc6 conflict with gtk-qt-engine

Apt-Get Package Installation Issues

This is the rror that I get

Preparing to replace libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 (using .../archives/libc6_2.5-3_amd64.deb) ... Unpacking replacement libc6 ... dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libc6_2.5-3_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite `/usr/lib64', which is also in package gtk-qt-engine Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/libc6_2.5-3_amd64.deb

/usr/lib64 is listed by both the packages in dpkg -L. Is there a way of installing libc6 or changing the directory for one of the packages to /usr/lib so the other could install. My system is in a horrible state because of this as the rest of the files to be installed are locked up.
