ATI X1400 and PowerState

Hi,

I'm running Lenny on a Thinkpad T60 with ATI X1400 GPU. Kernel is
2.6.18-4 from testing, fglrx driver is 8.36.5-1 from experimental, xorg
is 7.1.0-18 from testing.
I can set PowerPlay state of the card manually by using the
aticonfig --set-powerstate=NUMBER
but if I put the
Option "PowerState" "NUMBER"

in my xorg.conf, I get

fglrx(0): Option "PowerState" is not used.

Any idea how to get this working?
I tried putting the
aticonfig --set-powerstate=NUMBER
in my Fluxbox startup file, but that doesn't work either!

Regards

Kemal

Yeah, this is unsupported, blame ATI/AMD as usual ;)

That works for me on my XFCE setup:
15:58 zhenech@shinkupaddo ~ %
cat .config/autostart/ati-powerstate.desktop [Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Version=0.9.4
Type=Application
Name=ati-powerstate
Comment=
Exec=/home/zhenech/bin/ati-powerstate
StartupNotify=false
Terminal=false
Hidden=false

15:58 zhenech@shinkupaddo ~ % cat bin/ati-powerstate
/usr/bin/aticonfig --effective=now --set-powerstate=1

Maybe your file gets excuted too early?
