Evolution won't print plain-text messagesI've recently started using Evolution 2.6.3 on Debian Etch. It appears that when I try to print any plain-text messages, only the headers get printed - the message body is blank. However, printing mixed text/HTML messages seems to work fine. Am I missing something? I've tried web-searching but haven't found any reference to this problem. Thanks. Tony. |
could be a bug
Sounds like it could be a bug.
File a bug report at http://bugzilla.gnome.org
You could also / otherwise send a message to the evolution mailing list. I think this is the list here:
http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
could be a bug
Thanks for that. I'll look into reporting it as a bug, but I'd be surprised if it hasn't been noticed and fixed before now, since printing plain-text messages is something almost everybody does on a regular basis.
I did post it to the mailing-list, on both the 11th and 12th of May, but the messages never appeared on the list. Feeling very spurned, I eventually posted to the gnomesupport.org forum, but got no response there. So then I posted here, but having heard nothing, I posted to the list again (from a different address) and hey presto all 3 of my messages hit the list at once! But still no response.
Thanks.
Tony.

it could be your printer
the other possibility is that your printer may not be handling it correctly, although I'm not really sure where to start to troubleshoot this.
I would try to print plain text from the command line.
are you using CUPS or lp as your spooler?
can you try printing to PDF?
