Macromedia Flash Video

Hello,

I can successfully Macromedia Flash Video from almost all the home
pages like youtube, but some of there I can see locally using mplayer.
So the are any way to connect the Macromedia-mozilla-plugin and mplayer
or any way to see these videos that I can't see with mplayer ?

Thank you in advance,
Gustavo

This only works for the youtube.com web site (e.g. not embeds), but
provided you're using a Greasemonkey-or-equivalent enabled web browser,
try this user script:

http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/6011

Youtube-dl[0] is also useful, you can get embedded videos' location
using the "Block" tabs that Adblock Plus creates on Flash embed objects
(they function like hyperlinks to the embedded conent, you can
right-click and select "Copy Link Location" to paste into a terminal).

HTH,
Andrew

Thank for your answer, but my problem isn't download the videos. I
already done it.
My problem is that some of the videos that I downloaded I can see with
mplayer and others videos I can't see with mplayer. But these these
videos that I can't see using mplayer I can see from the URL using
Mozilla (or firefox) and the Macromedia Plugin, so my question is If
there are any way to use the Macromedia Plugin in order to play locally
Macromedia video.

Thank you again,
Gustavo

Do you want to play .swf files or .flv files using the Macromedia
plugin?

A standalone Linux player exists, it's on Adobe Labs' site somewhere.

Whenever I have downloaded *.flv files from Google video I have found
that VLC, Xine, and KMplayer (Mplayer front-end) all seem to handle the
files pretty well. My personal preference though is to convert the files
to *.mpg and that way (a) all the multimedia players can play the files
and (b) I can easily make DVD-player discs to watch on the TV.
This is an additional step that can be time and CPU-heavy, so may not be
suitable for all occasions.

Don't know about the Adobe one but ffplay plays .flv - or you can
recode them to a sane format:

ffmpeg -i foo.flv -sameq foo.saneformat

Note that I have all the "unofficial" codec packages from
www.debian-multimedia.org installed.
