SO-DIMM size for IBM ThinkPad 570

Hello *,

I have a very well working ThinkPad 570 (P2/366) with on 64MByte and one
128 MByte Module. I like to know, which is the maximum size for the SO
DIMM's since I like to add TWO 256 MByte modules.

Does anyone know, whether this is possibel?

I have a Workststion using a P2/350 and while increased the memory from
3 x 64 MBytes to 4 x 128 MBytes the speed increased nearly by twice.

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day

You can try to find this at www.kingston.com . Search by model to find
outdated systems...

Since now I was guessing you use high-end only....?

In a similar way I recommend http://www.crucial.com/ and have always
had good experiences with them. They have a system database that is
quite extensive.

However looking there just now I see that they list the 570 as having
only one slot with 64MB as onboard non-removable memory. According to
the IBM docs here the maximum memory for the slot is 128 MB for a
total of 192 MB.

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pcinstitute/psref/twbook.pdf

If you actually have the 570 E model the maximum for the one available
slot is either 256 MB for a maximum of either 320 MB.

Here is a useful ThinkWiki link:

Yeah, the "570E" would be a 450/500 MHz CPU...
I have the 366MHz one which is definitivly the "570"

Domage... but now I have the Maintenance Guide as PDF...

I have a VERY big IBM TP but it is not one, you would like to use every
day in the city of Strasbourg. I goone already a R40 and T72 stolen...

And since the TP570 do its work...

And of course, sometimes I leave the Latop @customers doing network
analysis and such things... (I am owning currently four TP570 which
I can get for cheap on eBay for under 100 Euro with 1 year waranty)
