Have you considered the hd-media USB stick install method from the
installation manual? I just wrote this same reply to someone else.
Do these things come in threes?
Doug.

Is this a sata box? If so, you might want to check your bios and set disk
access to compatability mode ..

please it's real!
Hello *!
this site got really cool! too bad I lost all my profile data..
well I'm posting here because I have the same problem;
I'm trying to install lenny on an intel DP35DP with an intel core 2 quad procesor, I'm using the amd64 installer. first I downoaded de netinst iso and it hit me with a message saying that it couldn't find a proper driver for my cd-rom drive, shouldn't be because it's a simple ide drive, well i dig and found this same message some other places... (yes the exact one...) with the same answer (Install from usb!) well, I did that, but it was no good, because now it doesn't recognize the lan card... it's just a simple Intel 10/100/1000 card! why not!!! but well it seems to me that it's some problems with the drivers! and i'm looking for help but haven't found anything yet, hope someone take this seriously...
thanks in advance!
see ya all

EDIT: i finally figured it out! the thing is that this moderboard is still too new to debian i think, so it doesn't have all the latest drivers, although the cd-rom problem still is wired to me, because after the usb install, the cd-rom drive was recognized just fine...
well the good thing is that there was no problem with the usb after install so i could pass all the files a needed using the usb stick, well I downloaded the e1000 driver from the Intel site with the name of the model in the search and installed like it says in there (http://www.intel.com/support/network/sb/cs-009209.htm) and after that it worked! I installed all the software by Internet and the rest is history :D
well I just notice I don't have sounds... well seems that I'm going to do something similar for this now.... :|
well just hope this helps....
